Paid my grandmother a visit a few days back. Fells good seeing where my dashing good looks come from.
Honest truth is, I’d planned on seeing her for only 30 minutes, drop off a package then leave yet I ended up staying there for almost an hour and a half talking to her about how she’s okay with my future wife wearing a miniskirt as long as she can clean the house and make me a sandwich ( yes, granny actually said that ).
Had a blast.
I really did.
Yet this short visit is an example of how people tend to contradict what they say they’ll do, and what they’ll actually do
You’d be surprised just how often someone with weight probles will tell you how he doesn’t have the time to watch an ad, before he sits through a two hour long infomercial selling a weight loss product with his eyes wide open in awe.
Or how a woman will tell you she don’t have the time to read a 3 page sales letter, before reading through all 8 pages of a sales letter selling a course on how to give her boyfriend the most electrifying fellatio of his life ( I actually tested this one on someone ).
And, one I’m personally guilty of… claiming to never watch movies or long videos because of a poor attention span yet I’ll sit through a 45 minute long VSL pedding an ebook teaching me how to last longer in bed ( not that I need it… y’know ).
Here the thing, more often than not what a person says holds about as much water as a tennis racket in a tropical typhoon when compared to what they actually do.
Actions speak louder than words and if your market has a known history of ignoring a specific type of advertising medium then you’re probably guaranteed that ad format isn’t going to work with them no matter what they say to you if you ask them.
It takes research to find out which advertising mediums work best for your market. And, if you want my assistance in researching what ad format your market responds best to, and also crafting compelling copy to use in the ad, then hit me up over at:
