Ah yes, free shit.
We all like it.
Heck, we can’t get enough of it.
Just say “free” anywhere and watch the zombie hordes raid your wares! Now…
The great argument of giving away free content in email continues…
Far as I’m concerned, giving away free… actionable content in email is actually bad for your subscribers.
In fact… I’d dare say it’s borderline cruel to your list if you’re sending loads of free content. Why do I say this?
Well… email marketing is the same as being in a relationship…
Except one party is always on the giving end, and the other is always on the receiving end. No exceptions.
The party on the receiving end never really takes the relationship seriously because they don’t have anything invested.
They could easily walk away from the relationship with the only thing they’d have put in being their time. This is wildly different from relationships where there was loads of investment from both sides.
This is also why you usually see people saying stuff like:
“I can’t let this relationship end like this, I’ve made too many sacrifices to let him/ her go”
… no seriously, I’ve had people say that to me countless times.
You’re going to notice that people not only take their relationships more seriously if they actually invest in the relationship… but they’re also more likely to feel like they’re an important part of the couple dynamic.
They feel like they’re carrying their own weight too.
… and this is much like what happens when you give away fucktons of free shit in your emails.
Your subscribers are always on the receiving end…
Never really investing for the actionable content you’re giving them.
No investment means not taking anything you give them seriously.
Not taking anything you give them seriously means they’re not going to try implementing the stuff you give them… or, they’re gonna half ass it.
Which all leads to them STILL being stuck where they were when they came to you in the first place. Except it’s now worse…
Because they don’t have any incentive to do what you have to tell them.
Free content in emails leads to lack to investment… which leads to lack of action… which leads to lack of results… which leads to your subscribers actually believing Epstein committed suicide!
And you don’t want that for your subscribers now, do you?
Till the next wave of madness…
