One of the best ways to write a headline and start a sales message was demonstrated in a classic episode of the Powerpuff girls.
In the episode, the current mayor… the aptly named Mayor, was campaigning for another term in the office. He went around in his campaign car.
Shouting, ” Vote for Mayor! ” through a massive loudspeaker and campaigning as if his kids would be taken by the mafia if he didn’t win…
However nobody liked his campaign.
They found him to be a noise idiot disturbing the peace in their city like a drunk hippy playing his car’s loudspeaker at a hospital parking spot. At two in the morning!
And his campaign noise was so bad it woke up one the supervillains, Fuzzy.
Fuzzy then ran all the way to town in his pyjamas and yelled, “SHUT UP, SHUT UP…. SHUT.UP!”
And the moment the people heard him…
Something just clicked with them…
They knew somewhere deep down inside this guy yelling at the mayor to shut up felt their anger.
They knew he was the one they wanted in the office.
They all nodded in agreement and so began Fuzzy’s so called “campaign”. He won the mayor election without even trying ( he slept through the whole process ).
All because he did the simple trick to grasping your reader’s attention…
In the words of the great Gary Halbert…
He entered the conversation already going on in their head.
By mistake to boot!
He didn’t need a big fucking 90 word super headline mouthful dumbing every single benefit of his “campaign” to get their attention.
He just said the one thing on their mind at that time.
And that was all he needed to do to engage them.
And, if you want me to dive into your market’s heads. And find out what their inner coversation is… then hit me up over at:
And let’s join the conversation in their heads for massive profits.
