Full disclosure here. I hate Michael Bay’s movies.
But dammit I gotta admit, he’s got a point when it comes marketing his… creations? ( can we even call those blasphemous abominations creations? )
Here’s what I mean…
Have you taken a look at what critics have to say about his movies?
Well, let me remind ya…
- TMNT – 22%
- Transformers -57%
- Transformers 2 – 19%
- Transformers 3 – 35%
- Transformers 4 – 18%
- Bad boyz 1 – 43%
- Bad boyz 2 – 18%
See the trend here?
Critics hate this guy’s style
Can’t take it. I’m damn sure if we put these guys in charge of a country, they’d make possesion of any of his works a capital offense.
You could go ahead and complain about how Michael Bay’s movies are all explosion orgies with hot girls ( I kinda like that part ), military hardware and an American flag every 15 minutes.
You can hate on the guy as much as you want, but that isn’t gonna stop him.
Wanna know why?
It’s because frankly, he doesn’t care about the haters
He makes his movies for his raving fans.
The people who’ll shove money in an envelope and write “tickets to Michael’s next masterpiece” on it… 6 months before the movie comes out because they can’t risk not buying a ticket when it comes out.
Because THEY are the ones who’ll pay to watch his shit.
And it’s just the same when it comes to marketing your business.
You can’t waste time trying to sell to someone who isn’t going to buy your product anyway. Sure, you can “try” to convert them ( noone is gonna stop ya )… but it’s moar sane to just go after the fish starving for your bait.
Afterall, you wouldn’t sell George Foreman grills to vegetarians now, would you? ( not trying to pick fights here, ‘jus sayin’ )
Nor would you sell bras to men…
Or Petrol/ Gasoline / Whatever the hell it’s called in your country to a cyclist.
