Before I start, I just want to say I’m not a fan of Kim Kardashian. I don’t watch her show, and I’d rather drink aged whiskey from the bladder of a baboon before keeping up with her barrage of ( admitedly smart ) nonsensical bullshit.
Now that we have that out of the way…
Kim Kardashian would make for a kick ass email marketer. There. I said it. At this point I don’t have to remind everyone how she totally lacks any real talent and is only famous for being famous.
Yet, if there’s one thing we can take from her, it’s how damn good she is at marketing herself and squeezing the moolah from her fans. Here are a few things you can steal from Kim’s way of engaging her audience.
1: She’s always building her connection with her fans
If you’ve been on any of Kim’s social media accounts I’m sure you’ve seen how she always seems to be addressing her fans directly. Sometimes it’s a badly shot video in her car. Sometimes she’s giving her “husband” a bad time.
But when she does it, she makes sure she’s speaking to her followers and asking for their feedback. From asking for recipe recommendations, to what she should wear, to how she can make Kanye’s life any more of a living hell than it already it…
Done right in email, a strong connection with an email list keeps it responsive and profitable.
2: She’s entertaining
It’s no secret Kim’s fans find her entertaining. No idea exactly what they find entertaining about watching somebody else’s life play out in from of them but the formula works, so I’m not complaining.
Her social media accounts are filled with random activities and rants she has. And she makes sure there’s never a dull moment for anyone who follows her online.
The was she keeps pumping out regular content for her fans keeps them coming back for more. For the most part, she’s almost always in front of them. This helps her stay relevant and in the news.
If you’re emailing regularly just like how she updates her fans, you stay in front of your audience. So when they need a solution for their problem you’re the first person they come to.
3: She makes her content personal, building her audience’s trust
Have you ever noticed how Kim’s fans act like they know her personally?
As in, some of them know details of her which would stalker material under any other circumstances? Well, that’s not coincidence.
She posts some extremely personal stuff on her twitter, facebook and sometimes even on her show.
Stuff such as nudes and even her down times. She’s even cried on camera several times ( including that time some weirdo got nudes of her younger sister ). And I’m sure there was something about a sex-tape somewhere…
This builds a strong emotional bond with her audience and fans. And makes them feel like they’re a part of her extremely publicized life.
If you do this in your emails, sharing a few random details about your personal life ( such as how I have the worst craving for a cheese sandwich right now ). You build yourself as a person to your audience. And people trust those who they feel they know better.
4: She knows how to monetize her audience
This, is the most important point on this list.
Kim knows how to peddle useless crap to her audience, for massive profit!
Her fans don’t even know they’re being sold to!
They actually think Kim’s giving them an honest recommendation of what they should use( which is kinda true assuming she actually uses the crap she peddles ). This strategy has made her a fortune in promotional deals.
She understands the power of a well monetised audience and does what she can to squeeze the moolah out of it at every chance she gets.
If you do this in email, you can be blatant about selling your products in your emails, but your list will see it as if you’re doing them a favour by recommending the products to them.
Anyways, that’s all for today. If I keep writing about Kim Kardashian I might end up turning into one of her mindless followers…. ugh.
If you want me to leverage Kim’s strategies to woo your email list into a cult following you can squeeze the moolah out of, then hit me up on this link:
And let’s go full blow Kardashian on your audience… without the superficial shallowness or lack of talent and value of course.
Till the next wave of madness.
