In the movie Batman Begins, Bruce Wayne waltzed up to an infamous crime leader named Falcone as the criminal had his dinner in a small posh restraunt. This was to show Falcone how unlike everyone else in Gotham Bruce did not fear him AND had an actual pair of bullocks.
Falcone, impressed by Bruce’s show of bravado then pointed out how there where three cops, two politicians and several high ranking officials seated in that restaurant a few tables away. And how none of them would have batted an eyelid if he pulled his gun out and shot Bruce right between the eyes splattering his brains on the wall.
Because, in the thug’s own words, that was “power money can’t buy”.
Now, don’t be thinking “it’s just a movie”. Such power does exist and you can tap into it for your business.
It’s just that in the real world we call it “leverage”.
Take my dad’s company for example. I watched him build it from the time I was still shitting my pants back in pre-school and we went from being dirt poor to being fairly well off. His clientele knows him and his business extremely well because of all the years he’s spent dealing with the industry.
Because of this inherent trust he doesn’t have to spent too long getting his prospects to believe him.
They know who he is, and what he does.
That’s power money can’t buy.
You can pay a man to lie about a testimonial, but you can’t pay a prospect to trust or believe you. So always make sure to build your “leverage” in your business so you’ll be in the best position to negotiate a deal or gain trust in your prospects.
This isn’t power you can just buy off the streets.
It’s power you have to earn.
And it’s this power you can use in your copy and emails to boost your sales.
Till the next wave of madness… Vae Victo
