You just gotta love The Joker! ( Heath Ledger’s Joker, not the crappy Jared Leto depiction ). You see:
One of my favorite all time films will always be “The Dark Knight”.
Because it has everything a good movie needs. Compelling characters, deep emotional themes and a villain so fucked up entire books worth of theories have been written about him. Speaking of the villain, “The Joker”…
He had a “unique” approach to getting shit done.
Unlike all the crime bosses of Gotham who wanted to over-complicate things with their convoluted “spaghetti plans” The Joker just chose the easiest way to get from point A to point B… and he rolled with it. A good example of this is about a third through the film when the crime bosses are seated around a table trying to figure out how to stop Batman.
None of them could think of a realistic solution until The Joker waltzed into their meeting and gave them a simple suggestion. The mad clouwn just looked at the mob bosses and said:
It’s simple… we kill the Batman
The reaction from the mob?
They where surprised by just how direct the suggestion was.
It made sense on paper. If you don’t like the Batman, then kill him.
And it’s this kind of direct simplicity I try to achieve when it comes to email.
Yes I get it… there are all those complex funnels and systems and what nots and I would be lying if I said some of them didn’t work. Heck, there are a few I’d personally set up for my own future projects.
Problem is they’re usually confusing to set up and even more confusing to plan.
There’s a time and a place for those kinda systems.
Until then, keep it simple.
