Most buyer decisions drag for a while.
I should know.
Couple of years back a group of salesmen popped by our home peddling a $300 set of pots. I shit you not. That’s actually how much they cost.
They blew the whistle on how unhealthy our current pots where.
Pointing out how the same pots murdered several children in a remote village in Eastern India.
How our pans where slowly cremating us alive!
We bought into how their new pots could add almost 10 years to our lives, and even cure diabetes.
I swear, these guys had us going!
They had all the elements of a killer pitch laid out!
Even a quick test right there in our kitchen showing how “ordinary” metal pots where slowly killing us.
I hate to say this…
They had us eating sugar from their palms
In fact, they had us so indoctrinated into their way of thinking, we stopped cooking in our old metal pots altogether.
We almost stopped using cooking oil! ( That is the power of an entertaining, and educating sales pitch )
However, they still couldn’t address the 700 pound gorilla in the room…
The price tag.
Look, $300 is a lot for a bunch of pots. You can lay on as much proof as you want about why anyone should invest in them. but at the end of the day, very few people are going to decide right there to buy.
These guys just thought we weren’t going to buy and left us.
We never heard from them again.
The thing is, sometimes even after your customer has seen your sales pitch… he might want to sit on it a little. This is especially true for high ticket items.
This thought process can take a couple of hours.. to a few days.
Or, in my case for some products… three whole months.
The key, is to silently become part of your buyer’s decision process. You gotta follow up your sales pitch, reminding them about your offer and the benefits it comes with.
You must slowly influence their thinking.
Turn them to your side.
While making sure they’re entertained while doing it. Your customers must look forward to your next “brainwashing” fix.
And how do you “brainwash” your customers without them noticing it?
Leverage the powah of emails
A simple autoresponder followup sequence can work wonders when it comes to converting your customers to
the dark side your way of thinking. And seeing your solution as the ultimate fix for their problems.
And it’s not just any ordinary emails, either.
You need the kind of emails where your customers are thinking “what’s he up to next?” as they open them. Just like the email I write.
And you can leverage my email copywriting skillz to amplify your consumer brainwashing scheme.
