Ever been to a Finnish Bar?
Me neither… but I did come across an interesting piece of cultural trivia.
Turns out in Finland it’s considered “poor form” to leave without drinking every last drop from the bottle. Seriously, who in their right mind would waste perfectly good beer?
I may not be much of a drinker but even I gotta appreciate how far these guys are willing to go to make sure no beer is wasted.
But you can steal this piece of Finnish culture and use it for your copy.
Glad you asked! Take a seat and let me tell ya!
You see often liken crafting copy to having a drink ( or beer, whatever floats your boat ).
Now, you can’t just craft the copy and leave the “copywriting pub” just like that. No, that would be rude and unbecoming. And we’re not rude and unbecoming now, are we?
Instead, you must make sure you’ve drank every single drop from the copywriting glass. That includes such steps as:
- Crafting an irresistible offer
- Adding urgency to the copy
- Making sure the headline will stop your intended buyers cold
And those are just three of them…there are many more where those came from.
You gotta make sure every step is covered. And the copy is edited and polished to a spit shine.
Do that, and you can leave the copywriting bar with pride, knowing you’re not insulting your buyers by rudely giving them half-assed copy.
