Ever heard of the Burning man?
No, I’m not reffering some ancient torture device. I’m reffereing to the so called “festival” where people go camp out in the Nevada desert and spend a few days in costume. In a constant drugged haze lost in their own twisted version of “human decency”.
The “festival” ( Yes, I’ll keep using quotation marks, stop complaining ) has a strict no-money policy and people are given food when they’re hungry. And water when they’re thirsty.
The problem now, is how they find it hard to crawl back into “the real world”.
And by “the real world” I’m reffering to the world where everyone has responsibilities and no everyone is going to be nice to you “just because”. A real world where everyone earns their keep.
But if you read my stuff you’re already smart enough to ground yourself in raw reality. Instead of spending your days in some insane power-fantasy. Which would make an LSD addict blush in shame.
And the same goes for your business.
Don’t base your business decisions based on some sick “mirage” of what you think the world is. Doing that is dumb and it’s akin to sticking your ass in a tank of live sharks with a steak glued to your left cheek confident the sharks aren’t going to take a bit.
Well guess what!
The sharks are hungry and they don’t care about your so called fantasy.
The real world is a harsh place.
But you can carve out your piece of it if you’re willing to look at it as it is. Not as you hope it should be.
Anyways, if you want a level headed, realistically minded copywriter writing your copy based on what your market craves, with research to back it. And not what he thinks they want based on a “random feeling”, then hit me up over here:
and let’s discuss your next project.
And if you have a friend or colleague who you feel needs this advice, then link him to this post. You’d be doing him a favour.
Till the next wave of madness.
