And I gotta tell ya, they where huge.
He was more or less my age but what he did is what really put a tear in my dry eyes.
I was at the department store chatting up one of the staff when this guy just walked up to us and said:
Hey, I have my own product and I want to supply you guys
The staff member I was talking to directed him to the store manager and the first thing I said when the guy left was along the lines of… “This kid, I like him. He has balls. And he gets it “.
This confused the staff member.
I then explained to him that the hallmark of any successful business is understanding that it doesn’t matter how good your product is. If you’re not actively trying to sell it… trying to get it in front of your customers…and trying to put it where your prospects can hand you moolah for your product…
Then whatever it is you’re selling is about as useless as tits on a bull.
What use is having a kickass product if nobody knows it’s even for sale?
Now, what this guy did took a lot of courage. Just three years ago when I wanted to supply that same department store with my own produce it took me almost 15 minutes to muster up the strength to walk up to the store manager.
This stuff isn’t for the faint of heart.
Putting yourself in front of your customers means accepting that some of them are going to reject your offer. If you’re not prepared to handle rejection of a massive scale, then you need a thicker skin.
Okay, enough of that.
Moving onwards, if you have a product and you’re not promoting via email then you’re missing out on chance to put your product in front of your potential customers on a regular basis.
Yes, some of your emails WON’T sell a thing ( some factors you can’t control ). But you’ll always have the next day to try again.
